The Nave and Aisles of Constantine’s Basilica were 118 meters long. They can be seen in a fresco by Domenico Tasselli formerly in the Vatican Grottoes; the fresco has been detached and is now in the sacristy of the basilica. It was painted before the nave and aisles were destroyed, and shows the wall that Sangallo the Younger built in 1538 to separate this area from the transept of the new basilica under construction.
